Buhari Administration - Manufactured Date: March 28, 2015, Expiration Date: May 29, 2017 By Bayo Oluwasanmi

From our recent political history, few events have created more media buzz than when the 73-year old retired Army General, Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as President  of Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country. As we gasp in shock and as the Buhari administration gasps for breath, Nigerians wonder what happened to the Chief-Agent-for-Change who toppled the Otuoke Corruption Czar, former President Goodluck Jonathan, 15 months ago in a rare democratic defeat of a ruling party that held power for 16 years. To see clearly is prophecy. More so, trying to revive a failed state like Nigeria is like hiking in the wilderness. You need to see far into the future. You need survival skills before you start the journey. So far, it is evident that Mr. Buhari was never prepared for the journey. Didn't see where he was headed. Many writers and critics offered free help to Mr. Buhari to enable him realize and appreciate that leadership position is not a spectator position. Volumes have been writt

Bola Tinubu Returns to Nigeria, Amidst Concerns

In the wake of their concerns, a source close to Mr. Tinubu told SaharaReporters that the former governor left Nigeria two weeks ago and flew to the United Kingdom for personal reasons. The source added that Mr. Tinubu was supposed to have returned a week later, but his whereabouts remain unknown to party apparatchiks. The APC leader’s aides did not initially return our correspondent’s phone calls and ignored text messages inquiring about his whereabouts and requesting to interview him. However, in a short text to SaharaReporters just before we went to

A call for Biafra, How Feasible?

What these people fail to realize is the shame and ridicule the biafra movement has become ever since Nnamdi kanu was discovered to be a fraud and arrested by the Nigerian government. Right to self determination is a treasonable offense against the Nigerian state because it's not captured in our Constitution. It is totally illegal for any region or group of people to demand seccession from Nigeria. The penalty would have been death if we were in a military regime. The Indian government recently opened fire on secessionist in the Kashmir region of India just to serve as a deterrent to future agitators. Despite having a referendum, Scotland chose to remain in the UK cos they for-saw their impending doom if they decide to leave. The Spanish government have disregarded several calls for catalonia to break away from spain. Russia recently annexed crimea from Ukraine after the crimeans got tired of life outside the soviet Union. The people of South Sudan are regretting their decision to

Aero Contractors Airlines, Nigeria Confirms Suspension of Services

Image
Aero Contractors Airlines, Nigeria’s second largest commercial carrier, has confirmed the suspension of its scheduled services beginning from Thursday September 1, 2016. Confirming this in a statement signed by the carrier’s management on Wednesday, Aero stated that the suspension was part of the strategic business realignment to reposition the airline and return it to profitability. It stated that this “business decision”, which is a result of the current economic situation in the country, had forced some other airlines to suspend operations or pull out of Nigeria. The management of the carrier said the airline had faced grave challenges in the past six months which impacted its business and by extension the scheduled services operations. These factors, according to Aero, are both internal and external environmental factors that have made it difficult for it to continue its scheduled services. Has Sokoto State Become another State House? - CAN

Image
The Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN), yesterday, berated the United States (US) Secretary of States, Mr John Kerry over his visit to Nigeria, describing the visit as discriminatory, personal and divisive. The President of CAN, Rev. Supo Ayokunle said the visit would further the federal government’s plan to continue to persecute the teeming population of Nigerian Christians. Kerry’s two day visit has attracted condemnation from Christian leaders who question his sincerity during the visit. Kerry, during the visit had only visited the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, met with the 19 northern governors, whom only three are Christians. At the Presidential Villa, where Kerry was hosted by President Muhammadu Buhari, met with select northern governors, which also irked critics on the selection process of his hosts. Ayokunle, told journalists in an interview in Abuja that Kerry disrespected the heterogeneous nature of Nigeria, while nakedly favouring northern Nigeria and Muslims t

See Federal Government Allocations to States One Year(May 2015 to June 2016)

Image
With the massive allocations, what else can be the reason why States cannot pay salaries? See analysis by an aggrieved civil servant who is being owed 6 months salary by the Bayelsa State Government Based on this estimate, Bayelsa has been collecting the highest allocation per local govt close to N1Billion every month. The state should be the richest and the most developed state in the country, this is not mentioning the separate LGA allocation. However, despite all these, the state is still owing workers and lecturers up to 6months salary. A state being ruled by  PDP  since inception. My brothers from the south should ask their leaders what they have been doing exactly with all the money allocated to them, it's their collective wealth being squandered by some useless corrupt politicians.  But the way nature will have it, they won't, due to their ethnic bigotry..... N1Billion/LGA every 4weeks. For Akwa-Ibom State, well do the math?
