Ex Appropriation Chair: Jibrin - I collected and Spent N650 Million Legally

Abdulmumin Jibrin, the Kano lawmaker at the centre of the unfolding budget padding scandal, on Saturday said he was also a beneficiary of a questionable office maintenance allowance for members of the House of Representatives. Mr. Jibrin’s confession came a day after he accused 10 principal officers of sharing more than N10 billion in fraudulent proceeds. The 10 principal officers who allegedly received billions of naira in running cost allowance include the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, who allegedly got the largest share of N1.5 billion, Mr. Jibrin said.

Asari Dokubo Not Dead - IYC

The Ijaw Youth Council has dismissed the rumoured attack by military personnel on Alhaji Asari Dokubo, founder of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF).  There were widespread rumours of Asari being killed in an alleged confrontation with soldiers on Saturday morning. But in a statement by the spokesman for IYC, Eric Omare, on Saturday said the former militant warlord was in good health and there was never a confrontation between him and military men.  IYC, an umbrella body for Ijaw youths, also called for the immediate withdrawal of troops from the region particularly the creeks of the Niger Delta following the recent ceasefire deal reached with militant youths and stakeholders in the region.  The group stated that there was no reason for military deployment in the region, adding that such was already causing tension and fear among people in the region.

Wrong Medication Killed my Son - Stella Oduah

The  first son of Senator Stella Oduah has died at a Turkish private hospital in Abuja due to the wrong prescription by a medical doctor; SaharaReporters has learned. Senator Oduah's son, whose name was given as Maxwell Chinedu Etoromi, died yesterday after he took a wrong medication prescribed for him following a tooth surgery. SaharaReporters learned that the 28-year-old graduated from Guildford College in the UK before returning to Abuja. Politician caught playing Pokémon Go during Session

The leader of Norway's Liberal Party who was determined to catch them all has been caught playing Pokemon Go during a parliamentary hearing on foreign affairs and defense. Trine Skei Grande told reporters that some people focus better while doing something "braindead." However, committee members weren't impressed, Grande said she stopped playing the game after complaints were made.

The Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN), yesterday, berated the United States (US) Secretary of States, Mr John Kerry over his visit to Nigeria, describing the visit as discriminatory, personal and divisive. The President of CAN, Rev. Supo Ayokunle said the visit would further the federal government’s plan to continue to persecute the teeming population of Nigerian Christians. Kerry’s two day visit has attracted condemnation from Christian leaders who question his sincerity during the visit. Kerry, during the visit had only visited the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, met with the 19 northern governors, whom only three are Christians. At the Presidential Villa, where Kerry was hosted by President Muhammadu Buhari, met with select northern governors, which also irked critics on the selection process of his hosts. The Nigerian Army through its Twitter handle released photographs of their training exercise in the South-south.  The exercise code-name CROCODILE will take place between 00:00hours of Friday 26th and end around 24:00 hours of same day.  This exercise will be similar to the Oban games exercise/drill of the Nigerian Navy
